Grades will be evenly distributed according to the handicaps of the players.
Competition Entries

Play will commence from the tee as directed by the Golf Operations Manager, Golf shop staff or their representative.
GENERAL COMPETITION CONDITIONS FOR ALL RGC CLUB COMPETITIONS
The following competition conditions must be observed in conjunction with the R & A. Rules of Golf. Special events have additional conditions and these will be attached to the timesheet and found under the Major Events section.
Eligibility
Competitions are open to financial members who have applicable playing rights for that day and have a current handicap.
Handicaps
The handicaps as displayed on the GolfLink website are the official handicaps at all times.
Practice on the Course
Before any round or play-off, a competitor must not practice on the competition course or test the surface of any putting green on the course. Penalty for breach is disqualification.
Starting Times
Day competition players who fail to be in readiness on the tee at the time reserved must wait until a vacancy occurs, or failing a vacancy until all competitors and other players have hit off. The Golf Operations Manager and Staff have absolute authority to amend the timesheet or redirect players and/or groups to another hit-off time or tee as required.
Holing Out
In competitions based on stroke play, putts must be holed out (ie no “gimmees”) with the exception that, to speed up play in all Par and Stableford competitions, players must pick up as soon as the hole has been lost.
In matchplay events, putts may be conceded.
Submitting a Score
After ensuring the marker and competitor have checked their scores, each competitor must submit their score immediately upon completion of the round. If scores are not returned within the time limit ‘No Score Not Approved’ will apply.
The player is responsible for recording the correct gross score on every hole and agreeing with the marker. Failure to observe these conditions will result in disqualification from the competition.
Ties
Ties in major events are sometimes decided by replay or playoff and the procedure will be shown on the conditions of play for the specific event. Otherwise the countback method will be used:-
- For all 18 hole events the best score for holes 10-18 shall be used. If there is still a tie holes 13-18 or if still tied holes 16-18. If a tie still exists then hole by hole working back from the 18th.
- In 27, 36, 54 and 72 hole events, the last 18 holes shall be used and if still tied, using the final round scores, count back as in 1 above.
- In handicap events the relevant handicap or fraction thereof shall be applied.
- For a 9 hole event the best score for the last 6 holes shall be used. If a tie still exists the last 3 holes, if a tie still exists then hole by hole from the 9th
Protests
A protest in any competition must be lodged in writing with the General Manager, Club Captain, Women’s Captain or designated representative immediately on the completion of the competition and must contain grounds on which the protest is based and must be signed by the competitor making the protest.
Discontinuance of Play & Adverse Weather Conditions
It is possible that Club Officials may deem the course unplayable or consider that weather conditions, such as heat, lightning, fog, excessive rain or heavy frost, may make play unsafe.
If play is ceased or abandoned the Golf Shop will suspend play by applying three short siren blasts. Once the siren is blown, the player has the option of immediately marking the ball where it lies or completing the hole being played at the time. Play cannot continue any further thereafter until Golf Operations signal for play to resume.
Competition Refund Policy
If competition play is abandoned by Club Officials, all players unable to complete their round will be entitled to a refund of the competition fee.
Matchplay Events
All Matchplay events must be played on the dates and times as scheduled and scores will not be accepted for handicap purposes.
Measuring Devices
For all play at Rosanna Golf Club, a player may obtain distance information by using a device specifically designed for that purpose.
Whilst this device may have the capability to measure other conditions (eg gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc) the player will be disqualified if they actually use these additional capabilities.
Player Code of Conduct
The Golf Victoria Code of Conduct shall apply in all competitions conducted or promoted by The Rosanna Golf Club, in addition to other requirements of players as specified by tournament conditions, local rules and by-laws of the Club. Further information of the code is available from Administration.
Match Committee
The Golf Operations Committee works with Golf Shop to oversee all aspects of playing golf at Rosanna.
It helps to schedule events, set competition conditions, update local rules and to resolve any issues relating to playing golf.
The Golf Operations Committee may cancel or alter any fixture without notice.
