The boys were going into this contest with confidence having trounced Kew 9 nil the previous week.
Well the game did not go to plan and Rosanna struggled but were able to get over the line winning 5/4.
Rosanna are the defending 2025 champions and with the excellent win over Kew there no doubt all the other 8 clubs gearing themselves to take our scalp.

Round 4 – At Eastern VS Latrobe (5.4-3.5 WIN)
Round four was held at the newly reopened Eastern golf Club vs La Trobe.
We knew this match was to be a very challenging task which proved correct.

The winners on the day were Gary Henderson 6/4 Ange Dinardo 4/3 4 ball Graeme Cuff and Craig Gowling 5/3 Mark Minarelli 2/1 Steve Dundon 2 up whilst Trevor Pike guts it out for a half.

Round five was played at Yering vs Gardiner Run ,first position vs third
Could Rosanna continue with its undefeated run.
We went into this match with some momentum but we knew the opposition had very good players at the top of its order.
It wasn’t until the last few contest were decided that Rosanna was announced the winners. It was an arm wrestle most of the day, but with a few a few early wins gave us some confidence.
The winner were Justin Burgoine 8/6 Gary Henderson 7/6 Ange Dinardo 5/3 Steve Dundon 3/2 and the 4 ball C Gowling , Tim Roughley 3/1.
Next week is at Gardiner Run hit off 12pm
Round 6 – At Gardiner’s Run VS Yering Meadows (Play cancelled due to sotrms)
Round six was played at Gardiner Run vs Yering a game we were not treating lightly.
We commenced all matches quite well and despite having two games in the bag Jeff Russell 7/5 and Branton Delaney 8/6 our number 1 & 2 players and our other games well ahead the game was abandoned due to lightning in the area .
The team managers were in constant discussions with after viewing the radar screen and seeing more lightning it was agreed to abandon the days play.
We now wait for a decision from the executive committee .
Next weeks game is at LaTrobe vs Greenacres and being nearby we would like to see as many Rosanna supporters as possible.
Round 7 – At Latrobe VS Green Acres (5-4 WIN)
We are approaching the pointing end of the season with Rosanna top of the ladder undefeated.
Round seven was played at Latrobe vs second place Greenacres.
The match commenced with little excitement with all contest very even and at the half way mark of the nine contest only three were not halved.
We knew we were in for a dog fight and the battle continued with most contest going to the 18th hole.
The Rosanna 4 ball contest was decided on the last hole with Cuffy chipping in to win the hole and halving the contest.
Ange Dinardo also won on the 18th ,1up.
Ian Selbie playing his first game for six week was able to scramble a half.
Ever reliable Gary Henderson won 2/1. Our Captain Greg Russell and brother Jeff both won 2up.
Although the final score 5/4 does not appear impressive, against a strong opposition all had players dug deep and their efforts achieved an important win for Rosanna.
With two rounds remaining next week is at Greenacres vs Eastern ,hit off is 12.
Round 8 – At Green Acres VS Eastern (7-2 WIN)
The penultimate round for the 2026 season was played at Green Acres vs potential finalist Eastern.
The course was presented in superb condition, greens running quite fast.
Rosanna had been consistent in rotating 14 players for its starting 10 and this week we had a very strong squad. We were quietly confident entering this match as we had defeated Eastern last season 9/nil.
Rosanna was able to achieve a comfortable win 7/2 and the winners were 4 ball Ange Dinardo ,Craig Gowling 4/3 Mark Minarelli 4/3 Gary Henderson 2up Geoff Dickson 4/2 Steve Dundon 2/1 Branton Delaney 2/1 Greg Russell 1up.
The final round is at Kew against Heritage who we defeated in last years final and it so happens we will play in this years final.
Round 9 – At Kew VS Heritage (6/3 WIN)
Round nine and the final game of the season was played at Kew vs Heritage.
The course was presented in wonderful condition but the greens were unfortunately very slow with the players from both teams struggling to cope.
Rosanna undefeated on top of the ladder playing second place Heritage and our opponents in the finals. Although we couldn’t miss participating in the finals we considered this match to be extremely important as a comfortable win would afford a psychological advantage over our opponents.
The match at the halfway mark was extremely close but the squad pulled out all stops to achieve a comfortable 6/3 win.
The winners were Ange Dinardo 6/3 Greg Russell4/3 Steve Dundon 1up Geoff Dickson 1up Mark Minarelli 1up Jeff Russell half, four ball Craig Gowling Justin Burgoine half.
I’m happy to announce that Ange Dinardo and Steve Dundon completed the season undeafeted
Now for the finals to be played at Heidelberg vs Heritage 10th April.
As it’s nearby we would love to see as many Rosanna supporters as possible
